an oldie but a goodie

Here's a video I made a couple of years ago. I needed to send it to someone but it was too large to email, so I posted it youtube. You'll have to excuse the botched splicing about halfway through, I shortened it from 4.5 minutes to 3.5 last night and had to use Windows Movie Maker to cut it instead of my usual software so I couldn't mix the sound, but it's not a big deal. Just wanted you to know it used to be perfect at one time.

you do what you gotta do

I sold the Cherokee a few weeks ago. After spending about $800 in gas during the month of September it wasn't a hard choice to make. I specifically wanted a 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 4 door, and I really wanted an Accord but I was getting to the point that I would consider domestic. After weeks of searching I finally found and bought my car last week, a '95 Accord. It only took about 8 different newspapers, 4 websites, and many stops at cars on the side of the road and at small dealerships to find it. True, I wasn't going to pay much money, but even so it was very hard to find a decent car. Apparently I define "clean" very differently from many others. I wasn't asking for perfect, but I just couldn't believe how people trash their cars out and want top dollar for them.

So I had to drive 5 hours to get the car but it was totally worth it and I'm actually really enjoying it. The car belonged to a company who moved mobile homes and stuff, it was their escort car, so the 144K miles on it are pretty much highway. I had to put tires on it and next will come window tint and paint, but other than that it's great. It's not beat up on the outside, just a little faded paint on the driver's side doors. Smells nice inside with no stains or rips. I put in a cd player and 4 new speakers on Sunday. Not only is it comfortable and fun to drive, but 30+ mpg is very nice.

straight out of the can-can

I used to love watching David Letterman but I don't get CBS anymore. Here's a fine example of why I miss him so much...
